August 17th
Read: Psalm 22:3 and Psalms 148 and Psalms 150
“God inhabits the praises of Israel!,” of His people. When we are praising God, He is fully present in a special way. When He is fully present, the enemy of our souls cannot touch us! When we are truly praising God, Satan cannot affect us! This is true of individual or corporate praise. There are two times when any congregation of believers is of one accord, during prayer and while praising God. “Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD.” (Psa. 150:6) That means me! That means you too! Let us praise Him for all things.
EARLY MORNING RAIN
Rain on the rooftop
Close o’er my head,
Sing me a song
As I snuggle in bed.
Tap on my window.
Draw me from sleep.
With your persistence
From dreamland I’ll creep.
Rain on the rooftop,
What’s that you sing?
Song of new life
For each living thing?
Drumbeats and birdsong
Combine there to say,
“Earth wears a fresh-
Laundered dress this new day?”
Rain on the rooftop,
Rouse me with song.
Tap out the beat
And I’ll sing along.
We’ll join in chorus.
God we will praise
For His great love
That sends rainy days.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I praise Your name. I would praise You in sunshine or rain. Thank You for being fully present when I praiseYou.
