Read: Lam. 3:22-26 and Romans 2:4

Do you believe Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.”? Do you believe Paul, who wrote in Romans 2:4, about the riches of God’s goodness?

God’s great goodness is laid up in abundant store for those who fear Him and love Him. It endures continually and fills the earth. It satisfies the hungry soul and is a stronghold in troubled times. It is manifested in both spiritual and material blessings.

There is a response required when we receive His goodness into our lives. Praise and thanksgiving from our hearts and lips are pleasing to God. Joy and gladness of heart are what those around us see and what brings glory to His name.

As we frequent His presence, His house, His people, following His way, pursuing more knowledge of Him and worshipping Him as we tread His courts, He will respond to us by filling us with His goodness.

THE GOODNESS OF GOD
God’s goodness rains about me,
Its teeming everywhere,
Its action in the flashing of mercy in the air.
His Word? . . . “Child, do not doubt me.
You rest within my care
Although you sense the crashing
Of temples of despair.”

God’s goodness washes through me
To strengthen heart and knees,
His sovereignty so certain
That all my being sees
A flow of peace come to me
To sweep away the lees
And dregs of my frustrations,
To leave my heart at ease.

God’s goodness stays to hold me;
It never goes away;
‘Tis part of forward motion
Through any given day.
I feel His love enfold me,
And should I start to stray,
I’ll remember . . . His bright ocean
Of goodness e’er holds sway.

Prayer: Dear Lord, as Your abundant goodness flows towards me, and to those I love, please help me to be praiseful and thankful in all circumstances.
