February 19th

Read: Mark 3:31-35; Philippians 2:12-16; 1 Chronicles 28:9; Romans 12:1-2

A willing mind and heart are trademarks of a true believer. Choosing to be on God’s side and to walk in His ways are daily events for most of us. Do my daily choices bring glory to God? They are supposed to. (1 Cor. 6:20) Am I willing to make changes in my life when I fail to glorify God in body and spirit? My choice of words, actions, even facial expressions and body language speak volumes to those who watch me to see if my walk matches my talk. Do I allow habits in these areas to dishonor God?

WILLING
Give me the will, O Jesus my Lord,
To be all the things Your love doth afford.
The reins of my heart are held by Your hand,
But my will is my own, as the Father first planned.
Things that I choose to do every day
Must glorify You as I walk in Your way.
Faith is the effort to center my will
In Your will, O Master, that Spirit might fill.
Though I may falter and effort may fail,
O Jesus, Your love doth ever prevail.

Prayer: Dear God, I am willing to be made willing in areas in which I have never really been willing before. Please show me where changes in my life are needful if I am to have those Christian trademarks.
