June 11th

Read: Isa. 58:11; Psalm 46:10; Isaiah 30:20-21

Sometimes storms sweep into our lives suddenly, bringing lightning strikes of fear, whirlwinds of confusion, and thunderous doubts about what to do in our circumstances. These are the times when we need to seek the lighthouse of Jesus Christ and God’s pillar of fire to guide us each step we take. These are the times we need to recall His admonition, “Be still and know that I am God,” and to say with David, the psalmist, “When I am afraid, I will trust in Thee.” (Psa. 56:3)

GUIDING LIGHT
When the winds unruly blow,
When I’m drawn by undertow
Towards a threatening shoal,
When the storm o’erwhelmeth me,
Let me, God, Your beacon see
Shining through adversity,
Ever in control.

Apply, 0 God, Your healing balm;
Center me in Your great calm
Though billows ’round me roll.
Bring repose when days seem long;
Heal with peace when things go wrong;
Keep Your course within me strong;
Ever guide my soul.

Prayer: Dear Lord, keep me looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith.
