Read: Psalm 138:7-8 and Psalm 91:1-16

My son Jim was twelve years old in 1980 when his father died suddenly. While we were comfortable financially, there was much concern in my heart that God would get Jim through his teen years without harm. I was particularly thinking of the drugs available and the high alcohol consumption reported in our school system. To me they are plagues as dangerous as the bubonic plague. I prayed Psalm 91 over and over to my Heavenly Father, especially verses 9-16. Jim was a believer even then, so I claimed those verses as a special promise for him. God was faithful. Jim exited high school with an excellent academic record and remained a faithful member of his youth group in our church. I am so thankful that God answered those many prayers.

I CALL ON THEE
In my stress I call on Thee,
In my great adversity,
And Thy peace doth increase
‘Til I know tranquility.

In my need I call on Thee,
In my great extremity.
On Thy supply I rely
‘Til I know prosperity.

In sufferings I call on Thee,
In illness and infirmity,
And I thrive; I come alive
‘Til health is a reality.

In my hope I call on Thee,
Asking with expectancy,
For I must come with trust
If I would Thy mercy see.

In my joy I call on Thee,
With thankful heart that I am free
To do Thy will, with life to fill
My time through all eternity.

Prayer: Dear Father, I thank You for Your faiithfulness in Your promises. Help me to call on You in every circumstance.
