Read: Micah 7:7
As we patiently hope for God to act in and through our circumstances, it is suggested in the above verse that we look expectantly to Him and know that He will pay attention to our prayers, considering them and understanding our needs.
If it seems that your prayers are not being answered, hang in there. God does hear and it is not necessary to start your own program to accomplish what you ask of Him. He will act in His own time and in His own way. That is what makes it all so exciting! His ways have such variety, and He leaves us with some real cliff-hangers sometimes.
A radio personality recently spoke of doing a God hunt! He was suggesting that we search each occurrence of our lives to find God there … in His chastisement, His guidance, His leading, His love, or His mercy … among other things.
Certainly we will have answered prayer if we look unto Him, waiting in hope for His program for our lives to take shape.
A PUZZLE
How can it be, O Savior dear,
That praise more fully flows
When circumstance and days are drear
Than when life’s sunshine glows?
How can there be such joy complete
Whene’er friends treat me ill?
And when a turmoil fills the street.
How can my heart be still?
How can a psalm-song fill my heart
And melody my soul
When those whom I love most depart
Or billows o’er me roll?
`Tis puzzle sore to everyone
Who yet bears Adam’s frame
That in my race the victory’s won
Because I trust Your name.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for ever being attuned to my prayers. Help me always to watch for Your answers and to recognize them.
