Read: 1 Corinthians 13:12; Jeremiah 29:11-13; Acts 1:8; Psalm 27:11 and Proverbs 3:6
When we have a deep personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, there is a constant urging on His part to draw into Him in an even deeper way. He prods us into service, which only enlarges our understanding of His power and love. He gives glimpses of His work behind the scenes on our behalf and of the ‘joy that is set before’ us. He reveals Himself more fully as He leads us while we walk in His light. Only eternity will reveal all that we desire to understand, but He wants us to depend upon Him, not our own understanding.
IN A GLASS DARKLY
When Thou dost touch my searching heart,
Probing, reaching deep,
Urging me to action, Lord,
Power doth through me sweep,
And each tomorrow doth appear,
Surpassing yesterday,
Filled with love and peace and joy,
Your blessings in array.
I do not know my worth, 0 Lord,
Nor why You paid my price;
I know not where Your path will lead,
But Your strength shall suffice.
I cannot see my full life’s course,
Nor yet what I may bring
To lay before Your pierced feet
When You are crowned as King.
I only know You do lead me,
Bidding fear depart,
Shedding light upon my way
And full into my heart.
I thank You, Lord, for all Your ways,
Mysterious though they be;
I shall have time to understand
Throughout eternity.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You that Your ways are higher than my ways and that Your thoughts are higher than mine.
