Have you ever noticed in your Christian life that in order to gain something, you are often required to yield something? Often your giving must involve forgiveness or love or mercy before those things pour into your own life, right? When we yield to God, self is one of the things which we yield, or our “rights”. The best part is that when we are careful to do these things, we are fully blessed and running over with God’s blessings.
WAYS AND MEANS
Because I need much love,
My own love I give first.
When confidence I seek,
Praise from my lips doth burst.
When fear comes to my heart,
By facing it, I dare.
When mercy I’d impart,
From my own need I share.
Because I would be strong,
By yielding self I gain.
Whenever I seek truth,
God’s Word drops as the rain.
Prayer: Dear Father, help me to give with expectancy and to rejoice in the gift given.
