“THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN”
The resurrection stir of life
As Springtime walks the land,
The freedom feel, the childhood feel
Of ‘barefoot in the sand’;
The warmth that steals into my heart
When an enemy shakes my hand,
These show me God is here.

A perfect snowflake’s white design
Against my dark coat sleeve,
The gay bright fabric on the hills
That autumn colors weave,
The smiles that come unbidden, slow,
As bereft families grieve,
These show me God is here.

The way the trees begin to dance
To the singing wind’s refrain,
The way the earth turns fresh and green
When washed by a gentle rain,
The way a sufferer holds to life,
E’en in the midst of pain,
These show me God is here.

A bird which dives into the lake
To seek its morning fare
And one which soars undaunted
‘Mongst towering clouds in air,
The way my heart finds its own wings
During an hour of prayer,
These show me God is here.

None of these things bring us face to face with God in His glory, but all of them and many others are truly the evidences of His presence in our lives, in His creation. May I suggest that you begin a search for such evidences and keep a diary of every one you find?

Prayer: Dear God, I thank You for all the evidences of Your presence which strengthen our trust in You. Help me to see new ones every day.
