Read: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Life would be pretty boring without contrasts. In most places the weather gives us enough contrast to be interesting and keep us on our toes. The differences in people are interesting, even in one’s own family. Landscape would be tiresome without differences. God, in His infinite wisdom, has created a world of differences for His people. We need to recognize that and appreciate everything He has prepared and given to us.

CONTRASTS
Praise God for rain upon the land.
Praise Him for sunshine on the sand.
Praise God for babes who’ve from us sprung.
Praise Him they’re not forever young.
Praise God for mountaintops so high;
Praise Him for valleys where they lie.
Praise God who lets us suffer ills.
Praise Him for doctors’ little pills.
Praise God for anger in the right.
Praise Him for peace to cease the fight.
Praise God for velvet night and dark.
Praise Him for daytime and our work.
Praise God who gives us life and breath.
Praise Him for bringing rest in death.

Prayer: Dear Father God, I thank You for contrast in my life. Please help me to acknowledge Your goodness in it all.
