July 20th

Read: Luke 12:16-34 and Philippians 4:6-7

Each day is a treasure, a gift from God, with 24 hours, 1440 minutes, and 86,400 seconds. Over the course of each day each of us makes hundreds of decisions, both large and small. Many are so much a part of our pattern of life that we don’t even think of them as decisions: getting up in the morning, meal times, clothing selection, etc. The decisions to accept what comes each day, to deal with it and move on, to live each moment to the fullest extent with courage and faith in God … these are the decisions which motivate right choices on the surface of life. We need to glean what each God-given moment holds for us and use it for His glory.

ONE DAY AT A TIME
Look not to what tomorrow brings.
Tomorrow may not be.
Forget the pendulum as it swings
Towards eternity.
Live fully every moment’s time.
Pass in delight each day.
With courage face each step you climb.
Upon the upward way.
Each small event deserves regard.
Each person has a soul.
Each moment is a shining shard
Fragmented from the whole.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for Your gift of moments. Help me to live each one in Your way for Your purpose in me and for Your glory.
