Is the presence of the Lord real in your life? A dear friend, in her 80’s and in frail health, told me one day that He was with her all the time to help her get up and down the stairs to her bedroom, to help her prepare her meals, to listen to her conversation (she lived alone), just to be her friend. Minnie practiced the presence of the Lord, expecting Him to be with her every moment. She waited upon Him.

HIS PRESENCE
His presence comes nearer
Whenever I pray;
Directions are clearer
When He leads the way.
Somehow His presence
Fills my life with peace
As His reassurance
To hope brings increase.

His presence stays with me
From morn through the night.
He shows me His mercy,
His grace and His might.
Somehow His presence
Doth bring me sweet sleep
As all of His firmaments
Over me sweep.

His presence precedes me,
Yea, e’er goes before.
I go where He leads me,
His byways explore;
And though where I follow
May lead past the gate
Or through darkest shadow,
Upon Him I wait.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for Your comforting presence in my life. Help me to draw nearer to You each day.
