Read: Song of Solomon 2:11-13

The beauty and freshness of everything in springtime in apple country calls forth thoughts of resurrection. Seeds hidden by winter’s snows are beginning to stir inside with the strongest force in the universe … LIFE. Bulbs of snowdrops and hyacinths and tulips begin to push green shoots from within. The sap in trees begins to rise within the trunk, welling up to give life’s fluids to leaves and blossoms. Everything in nature cries, “Wake up!” … The sudden rains, the drying winds, the robins, the noisy geese arriving from the south, the ice groaning and cracking on the lakes and ponds all cry, “Spring is here!”

SPRING (from FOUR WHO COME)
Spring steals slowly into town
With gentle breeze astir;
Her scouts appear up hill and down
Ever ahead of her.
The pussy-willow tests the wind
And huddles in his fur
While snowdrop, assaulting ice and snow,
At nothing will demur.

Spring skirts the orchards as she comes
And dresses all their trees
In fragrant blossoms while she hums
A message to the bees.
As she advances robins sing
And raindrops cleanse the air
Until the town submits to Spring,
For suddenly, she’s there.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank You for Your life in all things. Thank You for the variety of Your creation. Thank You that I am part of it all, resurrected in Christ Jesus.
