One of the gifts for which I am most thankful is the special gift from the Holy Spirit which motivates me in Christ to serve God. Each believer receives a gift to be used for God’s work on this earth. Some receive more than one. Our pleasure should be to seek how best to use them so that His love can be expressed through us.
GLORY GIFTS
The gifts which God has given me,
According to His will,
To use for Him in liberty,
His purpose to fulfill,
Must never be denied;
Must daily be applied
To all I do.
If in my heart there wells a song,
From my throat it must spill;
Then if another sings along
In happy joyous trill,
Grace is magnified;
God is glorified
In what I do.
If I can comfort one in pain
Or ease a child who’s ill,
If I add sunshine to the rain
In lives, with love to fill,
Self is put aside
For one who’s sorely tried,
And God shines through.
When I can smile the live-long day,
My joy displays God’s skill.
When I sow seeds along the way
In faith, then will He till
And nourishment provide.
Faith will be multiplied
As I am true.
When I ply one gift from God’s store
And keep it bright with use,
I marvel that He gives me more
And then they reproduce
As each in faith is tried.
They will not be denied
If I am true.
Prayer: Dear Lord, show me what special gift You have given me as a tool to serve You and help me to be faithful in it’s use.
