February 24th
Read: John 11:43-44; Galatians 5:1; Romans 8:1-4; John 7:37-38; Hebrews 11:6
Everyone who comes into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ has his or her own testimony as to how it came about and how trust and growth and maturity developed. The writer of Hebrews tells us that we must diligently seek Him to gain the rewards of faith. John tells us that the Holy Spirit rises in us as springs of living water, and Paul tells us that we are new creations in Christ, resurrected with Him. The process begins with repentance from a contrite heart and leads us to being seated in heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:6) We are winners all the way.
THE DOOR IN THE POSTERN GATE
There is a door in the postern gate,
Down where the willows weep and wait,
Hidden away from earthly view,
Waiting for me to venture through.
I sought the latch upon my knees
And it opened when I said, “Jesus, please.”
There in the wash of Eternal Light
I knew my worth within His sight,
And the shame I felt was blessed away
By a whispered word, “Come forth, I say.”
The door swung wide, and I stepped through
Into love and release and life anew.
Jesus opened that door for me,
A portal to my infinity,
A glimpse of the roots that feed my soul,
A look at the Source Who makes me whole.
I sense the deep waters within His well
And welcome the Spirit who comes to dwell.
I’m finding things beyond that door
That I never dreamed were there before,
A radiant glow and a river of light
With living waters to flood the night,
And a depth in me that comes with prayer
To help me walk by faith and dare.
Prayer: Father God, help me to consider my own relationship with Christ. Search my ways and r eveal any problem areas. Then help me to yield those areas to Your Holy Spirit for instruction and correction.
