Read: Psalm 94:19; Luke 11:9-10; Matthew 6:5-8
Prayer is so personal to me that I sometimes find it difficult to speak about it. The transactions which occur in my secret place are deeply pervasive throughout my being and affect my thoughts, my actions, and my relationships. My motives may be examined or my actions reprimanded by God. My praise may flow or my frustrations may spill over into my Father’s ears. Sometimes it is hard work. Sometimes a joyful time with my Father. When I draw back into this daily world, I have been purified, instructed, and blessed.
SANCTUARY
I seek Thy sanctuary, Lord,
That holy place within,
That secret temple in my heart
Where naught else enters in
But me and Thee.
And there descends great stillness, Lord,
As we communion find.
I feel each pain and fear depart
As peace comes to my mind,
Peace sprung from Thee.
In quietness I meet Thee, Lord;
With life and power I’m blessed;
New energy doth find its start
In that holy place of rest
Where I find Thee.
Prayer: O Father, I thank You for my relationship with You. The wonder of such fellowship is unspeakable. Keep me coming to that secret and holy place where we meet.
