Read: Psalm 23; 2 Tim 1:6-11; John 15:5-8

A cup which overflows must necessarily spill onto something else. When my cup of life overflows, someone else gets some life spilled on him! When fruit, which is the overflow of the life in the branch, is evident in my life, someone else benefits in some way. I want my life to count for Jesus. How about you?

MY CUP RUNS OVER
I am given to joy
When my cup runneth full,
So sometimes I forget
Life can be a hard pull.
When I need a reminder
I just look around,
For trouble to see
Doth ever abound.

There’s sorrow or pain
In everyone’s life,
But the worst thing of all
Is the fear that is rife.
For someone who’s living
In stark unbelief
That God’s here to guide,
There appears no relief.

His efforts keep failing.
His strength’s giving out.
He can’t see a clear way.
He’s wasted with doubt.
Let the joy, then, and love
That I so much prize
Flood out of my cup
And touch those blind eyes.

The fullness of life
Which Christ gives to me
Is sufficient for him
When opened eyes see
That Christ is the answer
To sorrow and strife,
That his cup will fill too
With joy and with life.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to see where You are working around me. Then show me how to cooperate with You in that work.
