January 30th

Read: John 16:13; Job 11:7-9; Colossians 3:1-4; Hebrews 11:14-16

None of us is able to plumb the depths of God, but seeking to know Him is an activity which delights Him and enlarges our understanding of Him. Each seeker is on a personal mission to which God responds in a personal way, fitting the needs and personality of the person to His revelation of Himself for His purposes. If I have learned nothing else, it is that my seeking ever takes me past self to Christ.

THE SEEKING

My quest to answer mysteries,
My searching to find more
Leads me to realms past crystal seas
Through one more opening door,
Transports me through e’er brightening skies
‘ Til next beyond I win,
And there the greatest puzzle lies!
I find I’m deep within!
Deep down within shines glory bright
Past darksome halls I’ve trod,
Where Truth e’er waits to shed His light,
For Truth, indeed, is God.
E’en as I see Him standing there,
His nail-pierced, beckoning hand
Points me past self to pastures fair
In His own wonderland.
There, as I start to feed my soul,
Discovering ever more,
I wander o’er a heavenly knoll
And find … another door!

Prayer: Dear God, as I seek You with my whole heart, I will be rewarded with Your wisdom and greater understanding of You. Thank You for Your personal response to my search.
