My childhood was spent near some of the lovely mountain lakes in New York State’s Adirondack Mountains. I learned at a young age about the ripple effect of dropping pebbles into the water from a handy pier. A loving act usually produces a ripple effect too so that the love is spread out to other folks in some way.
The love of God flooded into my heart when I trusted Jesus as my Savior some 60 plus years ago. It produced in me the desire to love others by passing His love along. I pray that I have been found faithful in that.
LOVE-BILLOWS
When God’s own love lives in your heart,
It will not stay within,
But ever-widening circles start,
Their mushroom growth begin,
And you must share that great supply…
That ever-burgeoning source.
After it fills your life with joy
`Tis all-encompassing force
Extending to take others in To circle’s widening arc
In shining acts of love akin
To light from out the dark.
Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me to pass along Your love to those around me.
