March 4th

Read: Isa. 26:1; 41:6; 2 Cor. 6:1; Eph. 4:11-16

God is all things to us, our Salvation and our Shield among others. As believers we too have some effect upon those around us. In cooperation with God’s Holy Spirit, our works are to edify other believers and draw unbelievers to The Lord Jesus Christ. We are to work to encourage and build God’s truths into the lives of others just as in our own.

PALISADES
Each time a saintly brother
Gives witness to God’s grace,
Each time a Christian mother
Shows Christ’s love on her face,
Each time a pilgrim sister
Holds out a helping hand,
Each time a cheering whisper
Emboldens someone’s stand,
A Palisade’s erected
To strengthen someone’s life,
A bastion is perfected
In God’s defense ‘gainst strife.
Each fence post of protection,
Each upright of defense,
Each God-completed section
Of total confidence
Has bolstered someone’s armor,
Has Satan’s thrust repelled,
Has heartened some endeavor,
And, lo, the fort has held.

Prayer: Father, show me how to be an encourager and builder in Your church.
