Read: Gen. 7:11 & Gen. 8:2; Malachi 3:10; Psalm 68:19

God uses the phrase ‘windows of heaven’ in different instances in His Word. The first, in Genesis, indicates that those windows poured out God’s judgement of rain to bring about the flood in Noah’s day and closed to stop the rain. The outpouring of rain came because of man’s consistent rebellion and disobedience to God. Another time it is mentioned, the prophet Malachi tried to make the people of Israel see that those same windows would open to pour out God’s blessings if there was obedience and a seeking after Him in their giving to Him.

In Christ and with a walk in the Spirit of God, I have experienced God’s open windows of blessings, and I will never experience judgement poured out on me, because my sins were judged once for all when Jesus died on the cross.

THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN
The windows of heaven have opened for me
To pour out such blessings they spill from the sea.
The more love I sow, the more blessings flow,
Just as honey drips down from a brimming bee tree.

The windows of heaven shed light on my way.
They’re open to vistas as bright as new day.
Their soft golden glow doth gently bestow
The warmth of God’s peace with aureate ray.

The windows of heaven to truth open wide.
They part for the seeker who would search inside.
True faith’s golden key will make them swing free.
To Him who quests wisdom, they nothing will hide.

The windows of heaven will open for you
So that blessings and light and truth will flow through.
If wholeness you’d see and eternity,
Let Christ fill your heart and your spirit renew.

Prayer: Thank you, God, for the many blessings You pour out on me. Keep the weeds of rebellion and disobedience from my life.
