Read: Psalm 16 and 139; Col. 2:13; Heb. 11:6; John 3:16

Salvation … What is it? It is God’s action on any person who believes that Jesus Christ is Emmanuel (God with us) and that He died on the cross to pay sin’s penalty for every sinner, past, present and future. As Hebrews 10:10 says, “Once for all.” If one believes that and acknowledges that he is a sinner in confession to God and repentance, that one is saved, adopted into the family of God and cared for by Him as His own child.

ETERNAL LIFE
Of God’s eternal life we speak
And His own secret place we seek.
What is this ‘life’ that we would know
And, can we know it here below?

David knew the path of joy
Even as a youthful boy,
Redeemed by God within the womb
Before his earthly time had come.
He understood Messiah’s claim
Of life forever in His name.

At that moment we believe
And God’s full grace we do receive,
Eternal life for us begins.
God has forgiven all our sins.
Then Holy Spirit comes to fill
And help us do His holy will,
To keep us free from sin and fear
And help us see that God is near,
An ever-present help in need,
And Jesus Christ is Lord indeed.

And when we pass from earthly time
Into God’s calendar sublime,
We’ll serve His courts in raiment bright
And know at last, “There is no night.”

Prayer: Dear God, I thank You that Your plan includes ‘whosoevers’ like me.
