March 10th

Read: Psa. 94:11; 90:17; 23:3; 68:11; Prov. 25:11; 49:3; 32:8-11; 2 Pet. 1: 21

I think of all the letters, poems, and writings that have come from my pen, and I wonder if I have always been moved by the Holy Spirit when I was working at it. I am certain that often it was SELF who sat down with pen and paper to write. I am just as certain that God’s Holy Spirit has expressed Himself through me at times with words which I have penned or spoken, because He lives in me and I in Him.

My heart yearns to express His love. The Holy Spirit has gifted me to do that through writing, teaching, music and in my very life. He motivates me in all things. “In Him I live and move and have my being.” Sometimes my flesh is weak. Sometimes my own will is stubborn. Often there are lessons in humility for me, but I have never doubted His love. He helps me to express it. Where does your motivation come from?

UNLESS
The thoughts I think are vanity
Unless they are Your thoughts in me.
My works on earth will not abide
Unless Your love burns bright inside.
The paths I choose would ever stray
Unless You are my Guide each day.
The words I speak are powerless
Unless my lips Your name confess.
Thy precious Word means naught to me
Unless Your light helps me to see.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank You for Your Holy Spirit gifts which enable me to express You in my life. Help me to use every one of them to tell others of You.
