We share many things with Christ as believers. We are crucified with Him, dead with Him, buried with Him, made alive with Him, raised with Him, sufferers with Him and glorified with Him! We share His sonship and His inheritance. Because of this we are identified with Him, and we have ‘perks’ of which the world knows nothing. We also have the responsibility to reach the unbelieving for Him.
BECAUSE
Because I share His servanthood,
I follow where I’m led,
In paths of God’s right choosing,
No matter what’s ahead.
Because I share His sorrow,
With thrusts of scorn I’ve bled,
For others I am burdened,
And caring tears I’ve shed.
Because I share His power,
I know not fear or dread,
And in His resurrection
I live though I was dead.
Because I share His sonship,
My feet on flowers tread;
I’m robed in His own garments
And at His table fed.
Because I’ll share His glory,
When earthly things have fled,
I’ll live in heavenly mansions
And joy shall crown my head.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to understand and appropriate into my life all the ways in which I am identified with You.
