February 11th
Read: Rev. 19:15-16; Psa. 11:1-7; Job 34:21-22; Psa. 77:13-20; Matt. 18:11-14; and Romans 8:28-34
God’s perfect will is for justice to prevail in this world and in His universe. The believer understands that Christ upon the cross took all judgement for all our sins upon Himself. (Heb. 10:10) God’s condemnation is reserved for those who do not put their trust in the sufficiency of Jesus’ work on the cross. (John 3:17-18) When Jehovah spoke from Sinai, everyone trembled. When Jesus spoke from the cross, everyone heard Him say, “Father, forgive them.”
Two sides of God? No … perfect unity in who He is as omnipotent and omniscient. As humans with finite minds we see two sides, but God sees only His perfect plan of redemption being worked out. (Rom. 8:28)
GOD OF JUSTICE AND OF LOVE
Thy way is in the mighty sea
And midst the ancient hills.
Thy voice doth shake the firmament
And from the storm cloud spills.
Thy lightning eye doth see the man
Who follows wicked ways.
Thy justice is a mighty sword
And swift as it repays.
Yet Thou, Lord, leadest Thine own flock
Along the crystal rills
And in the greensward where we feed,
Where peace our pasture fills;
And, Lord, Thy loving eye seeks far
To find the one who strays,
And when marauder threatens,
It is Thy hand that stays.
Prayer: Dear God, held me to see Thy perfect plan being worked out in me and in those around me. I thank Thee that Thy plan of redemption included me.
