December 15th
Read: Isaiah 7:4 and Luke 1:26-56
We sing, “Joy to the world, the Lord is come,” and so we should for so He did. Christmas is the time to do it and to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in any fitting way. Joy should abound world-wide.
CHRISTMAS IS
Christmas is a season
Filled with joy and peace,
A time when men find reason
For whimsy and caprice.
Christmas is a kindling
Of myriad twinkling lights,
Of loving acts undwindling,
Of starshine and delights.
Christmas is a giving
Of all that’s good and fair;
Christmas is for living,
A time to sing and share.
Christmas is a flowering
In every caring breast
Of love that’s overpowering,
Of need to give one’s best.
Christmas is a telling
Of all God’s done for man;
‘Tis angel chorus swelling
Throughout the ages span.
Christmas is responding
To His bright guiding star;
‘Tis gathering and bonding
Men’s hearts both near and far.
Christmas is affirming
That God is very near;
‘Tis keeping and confirming
His Gift another year.
Prayer: Dear Lord, may my celebration and that of those I love be delightful to You this year.
