June 17th
Read: Matthew 6:33-34; Gal. 6:7-10; Heb. 10:22-25; Eph. 4:25-26
We never know what is around the next corner of our days: joy, sorrow, contentment, even death. Sometimes we face a testing which slides into our life from an unexpected direction; sometimes we are called suddenly to a new task which will stretch us far beyond our realized potential. That raises a question. Do you sleep well at night? Without fears about the morrow? Without qualms about relationships? Without anger in your heart? With a clear conscience towards God and man? A clear conscience really helps when life catches us off balance and we need God’s help NOW.
WHAT IS FOR ME?
What is for me upon this day?
What will I see? What will I say?
What will I do by Spirit led?
Will I be true till day has sped?
I cannot tell. I cannot know
If I will fail or if I’ll grow.
The things I sow, those I will reap.
If I spread woe, my heart will weep.
If I plant seeds of love and light,
If I meet needs and set things right,
If on my way I smiling go,
If on this day I good bestow.
Then God’s good things will come my way,
As twilight brings the close of day.
Joy will increase with all God’s best.
There will be peace and night of rest.
Prayer: Dear God, when the unexpected is suddenly upon me, part of my day, help me to remember the law of the harvest and Your presence near me.
