Read: Psalm 139; 2 Peter 3; Colossians 1:15-17
We live in Arizona, some 2800 miles from the homes of our sons and daughter in New York State. Telephoning them is often a hassle because of the two to three-hour time difference. When they are Daylight Saving Time, we are not … 3 hours difference. When we are both on Standard Time, the difference is two hours. Confusing? You bet!
To God 8 a.m. in Arizona and 11 a.m. in New York are exactly the same moment! He is not limited by time as we are. He just keeps Earth spinning on its axis so that each place on the globe will have its share of sunlight. In our language, the light keeps moving west. It is such a regular pattern that scientists know the exact moment of sunrise or sunset at any given spot on earth on any given day! (Would that buses were regular like that!) I think this is mind-boggling! How can anyone know just that one thing about our universe and not believe in our Creator?
“THE WINGS OF MORNING”
Morn hovers high on the hill,
Her wings brushing low,
Gossamer sunbeams that fill
Windows with glow.
Brightening, she soars higher still,
There to bestow
Magical light to the rill
Laughing below.
The beat of her wings brings delight
As gullies, caressed
By shade-shrinking fingers of light,
With sunshine are blest.
Reaching its zenith, her flight
Over earth on her quest
To search out each vestige of night
Keeps drawing her west.
Prayer: Dear God, I am in awe of Your creation and its precision. Help me to share my awe with others so that they might seek You too.
