Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:14-24 and Mark 3:31-35
Did you ever think of the Christian life as a wheel revolving around God? So often we find our lives revolving around our careers, our education, our families, even our church, so that we get out of balance with God. No matter what are the claims upon us in the areas of time, energy, or emotional involvement, our first priority is to keep God at the hub of our lives and not at the peripheral. For example: When Jesus was serving His Heavenly Father in the passage in Mark above, His earthly family had to take second place to His spiritual family. Are you willing to go that far for Jesus?
WHEEL
With God’s true purpose at the hub
Of lives we live for Him
We find ourselves revolving
With world beyond the rim.
The centripetal force of God
Helps keep us centered down
In harmony with Him and self
When others’ claims abound.
We feel a sense of wholeness
Which enables us to be
Unfragmented by world’s demands
While giving lovingly.
Prayer: Dear God, keep the priorities right in my life.
