Read: Isaiah 55:1; John 4Hebrews 10:22; Ephesians 5:26Proverbs 14:12

I never willingly pass up an opportunity to hear God’s Word preached or taught or to meet with God’s people in the fellowship which only Spirit-filled believers can know. My aim is always to learn more of Him and to draw closer to Him.

Unfortunately, in the lives of many believers, daily occupations and self-serving activities set the priorities, and so much of God and His ways slips away, leaving them wandering even as this lost one.

THE WANDERING LOST ONE
“Ho! All ye thirsty ones, drink from my well!”
The Lord of the universe cries.
“Drink from Your waters? What makes them so good?”
The wandering lost one replies.

“Your thirst will be slaked as you draw from its depths.
You’ll never be thirsty at all.
The waters are sweet. They are pure for your good.
0 wanderer, heed ye my call.

“‘Stay and refresh yourself. Drink ye your fill.
Come! Drink ye more than that sip”.
“I cannot linger. My way’s up ahead.
‘Tis a long and a difficult trip.”

“Here’s water to wash you,” the Lord says, “Repent.
The grime of your journey clings fast.”
“I’ve no time for washing,” the lost one replies.
See how the hours hurry past!”

‘Tis much more important to reach my own goal
Than that I be clean on my way.
The time and the effort to draw from Your depths
Would waste the good hours of my day.”

The lost one considers the way he should go,
Then turns from the Lord, in his haste,
To travel in widening circles his way
Over the land’s trackless waste.

The Lord of the universe draws back His hand,
Which was held up to point out the way,
And He grieves for the lost one, who stumbles along
Blinded and further astray.

“I have provision to meet all his need,”
The Lord of the universe sighs.
“Ho! All ye thirsty ones, drink from my well,”
The Redeemer another time cries.

Prayer: Dear Lord of the universe, fill me with the desire to drink from Your well and to stay close to You.
