October 30th

Read: John 15:13-17; Proverbs 17:17

Over the years I have been blessed with many true friends, the kind who love at all times, the sort who pray for me whenever they think of me, the ones who have ridden out the tough times with me. I have not known, however, anyone who has matched Jesus as my friend.

FRIENDSHIP
‘Tis fine to have a friend to share
Each joy you find and every care,
To travel with you everywhere,
Encourage you in risks you dare.

A friend will help when others fail
And take your hand along the trail.
He’ll help you ‘gainst the strongest gale
That life may send, and you’ll prevail.

Your friend will tell you when you’re wrong
Or join with you in joyful song
Or comfort you when night is long.
When you are weak he will be strong.

Oh, may I be just such a friend,
The kind who’ll help and share and mend
Life’s broken dreams, and bend …….
The kind who’ll be true to the end.

For I have such a friend, you know,
Who stays with me where’er I go.
‘Tis He who brings that inner glow …
‘Tis my friend, Jesus, loves me so.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You for being my Friend, not only now but forever. What a wonderful expectancy!
