March 6th

Read: 1 John 3:13; Luke 6:26; John 15:18-25; John 16:33; John 17:14-17; Gal. 1:10

Not many of us are like Daniel, who stood against wickedness in the king’s palace, or Amos, the farmer who walked into the court of Jereboam in Israel and gave them God’s indictment against their sins. Most of us would rather be pleasing to the people around us than to point out the error of someone’s way, even when we see them heading for trouble.

When we stand against evil and for the good, we will please God, but men will become our enemies. Not everyone will agree with Christ or with God’s Word. Actually they may hate Jesus and, because He is in you, they will hate you too. This should come as no surprise to us. Jesus told us to “rejoice and be exceeding glad…..for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” (Mat. 5:12)

We must stand for truth and justice in our daily lives. This is pleasing to God.

TRUTH CRUCIFIED
Ah woe, if everyone you know
Doth seek your company!
For when you bask in smiles of men
You fail in Verity.

You fail, and Evil doth prevail
When Truth you do forsake
And try with all men to comply,
All whims to undertake.

To gain and ever entertain
The world and all its sin
Denies and doesn’t exercise
The fearless Christ within.

Prayer: Dear Father, help me to dare for You … Teach me to speak up for Jesus and Your righteousness in all I do.
