Read: Eph. 6:12-17 and Hebrews 4:9-16
In one sense we tend to put too much division between the physical and the spiritual. If it is true that in Him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28) and that God is a Spirit
(John 4:24), then I must believe that everything is spiritual as much as it is physical! A big leap, you say? Didn’t Jesus tell us that a small seed of faith can move a mountain? (Mt. 17:20)
I am a physical being, but I am under the control of the Holy Spirit, so that makes me spiritual as well as physical!
The big question arises … Is my spiritual part linked to God or to the devil? For the believer the answer is that the spirit has been rescued from the soul (self) by God’s Word in order to be adopted into the family of God through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit which performs the operation.
Once this has been accomplished in me, I can look at physical creation and see God at work in it all, see the spiritual essence of all things, and know that I battle spiritual principalities and powers with His help.
GREEN EARTH ABOUT ME
Green earth about me
Under blue skies,
Help me see with my heart
As well as my eyes.
Help me to know the great
Work of His hand,
His touch on the sea,
His caress on the land.
Unfurl your beauty,
Your secrets for me.
Render your music
In sweet symphony.
Help me to plumb
The depths of His love
That binds me to you
While stars circle above.
Display all creation,
The great and the small,
And help me perceive
That I’m part of it all.
Prayer: Dear God, help me to see and understand how You are all and in all.
