Read: Psa. 9:9-10; Psa. 32
David understood the value of praising God even in the midst of trouble. He was a minstrel for God, giving testimony of God’s goodness and mercy in his own life to all who heard his songs. He sang to the sheep over which he watched. He sang for his king. His songs were sung in Israel’s worship services when he was king. In many places they are sung in worship today. How is your testimony? Are you singing praises to the God of your salvation?
TESTIMONY
Whence comes the courage to endure
When everything seems wrong?
Deep in my heart there wells a song,
Uncertain at first, then sure,
Praises which flow in a current strong,
For God is there when troubles throng.
Whence comes the joy, the sweet delight
I find in everyday?
Blessings appear in wide array,
Miracles seeded with light,
When I let God push all doubt away
And allow His hands to mold the clay.
Whence come the calm and the tranquil peace,
The firm unwavering course?
Forgiveness follows my remorse;
Strength follows fear’s release;
Hourly He sends His quickening force,
For God, my God, is my only Source.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for Your songs of praise from David’s heart. Please, Father, adjust my heart to the praise channel.
