Read: Exodus 2:1-10 and Proverbs 31:10-31

The way in which mothers approach the job of nurturing their children makes all the difference in family life. If this divine task is perceived to be some sort of bondage, there will be tensions, unhappiness for all, and rebellion in the ranks. If, on the other hand, the nurturing is understood to be a woman’s way of honoring God and fulfilling His purpose for her and her
family, the expended energy, the time restrictions and perhaps even the setting aside of personal goals and dreams will be gladly given as an offering to Him. Then “her children will rise up and call her blessed.”

FULFILLMENT
Bird in the treetop,
How can you sing
Bound to your nest there
Instead of a-wing?

“God made me fruitful
With eggs in my nest.
To fulfill my purpose
Is what I do best.”

Bird in the treetop.
Why do you stay
Warming your eggs there
Day after day?

“Eggs are God’s promise
Of new life to come,
And I am His helper
In nurturing some!”

Bird in the treetop,
Don’t you ever tire
Of seeking and bringing
The food they require?

“God gave me young ones
To fulfill His plan.
I must obey Him
And do all I can.”

Bird in the treetop,
Up there so high,
Whence comes your patience
To teach them to fly?

“God is the well-spring
Of all of my force.
He is my patience,
My strength and my Source!”

Prayer: Dear Lord, show me Your blessed ways to deal with my family.
