Read: Psalm 86:11

The Hebrew word shalom means peace. It is often used as a greeting and its implications run deeper than `peace’. It really implies a unity of mind, body, and spirit … a unity in God which brings His peace.

Today everything seems shattered … the world, the nation, the family, even the hearts of individuals. We really need a dose of shalom.

SHALOM
Oh heart, with love address your ways
That He might lengthen out your days.
With love let truth and mercy blend
That He might truly call you friend.

Oh mind, let truth enlighten all
That you might follow at His call.
Oh, be alert to this world’s need
And when He intervenes, pay heed!

Oh flesh, keep yourself free from sin
That He might truly enter in.
Allow His Spirit full control
That guilt-free peace might fill your soul.

Prayer: Dear God, bring unity where there has been a shattering.
