September 12th
Read: 1 Corinthians 2:9-12 and Isaiah 64:4
Whenever I want to meditate upon what God has in store for me, I turn in my Bible to read Revelation 22. John’s description of heaven staggers my imagination. I cannot even begin to understand all that is there because no man has seen it in a physical sense. I just have to trust that His Word is true and expect in faith to be there one day to see for myself.
It must be very lovely because there is so much beauty right here on Earth. One just needs to be attuned to seeking it.
“EYE HATH NOT SEEN”
1. Beauty bright 2. Beauty dear
To the sight … To the ear …
Sunset hues, Music’s sound
Morning dews, All around,
Baby’s cheek, Birds in song,
Mountain peak, Sing-along,
Geese in flight, Breeze’s sigh,
Spangled night, Lullaby,
Garden bower Thunder’s roll,
All in flower. Church bell’s toll.
3. Beauty’s start 4. God makes known
In the heart … To His own …
Dear one’s face, Much of beauty,
God’s great grace, Much of duty,
Perfect love But eye and ear
From above, In our sphere
Ceaseless prayer, Know but part
Gifts to share, Of God’s heart.
Fear’s release, All is known
Perfect peace. To Him alone.
Prayer: Help me, Lord, to see with beauty-expectant eyes.
