Jesus wants us to be full of joy. When something else comes into our lives, joy should spill out. The trouble is, usually, that what spills out is SELF with all of its frustrations and anger and discouragements and, even, doubts. When that occurs, our testimony to God’s goodness is discounted by those around us. Truly joyful Christians do not complain, nor do they display other than contented attitudes if they want to show forth God’s grace and love to others.
What spills out of your life when something negative comes into it?
JOY
Joy is a well-spring
Deep down inside,
A river of gladness,
For those who abide
With Jesus.
Joy is a light-ray
Bright on the face,
Witness to happiness
All can embrace
With Jesus.
Joy is contentment
Right where you live,
Assurance of worthiness
As you learn to give
With Jesus.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for Your joy in me. Help me always to display it.
