February 13th

Read: Isaiah 32:1-2; Hebrews 12:18-24; Psalm 139:7-12

Have you ever felt tossed about, unable to set a true course for your day, your year, your very life? … Unable to see a safe harbor ahead? I think most of us have experienced such times. When it happens in my life, the first thing I do is set anchor. (Heb. 6:19-20) I take a moment to look to Jesus for help, He reminds me through His Word that “He will be my guide even unto death.” (Psa. 48:14) He tells me that the deep places are in His hand (Psa. 95:4-5,) and that the seas become still at His command. If the storm continues, I know that it is part of His will for me, and that He will pilot me through it safely as I trust Him and wait upon Him.

BARCAROLE

Little barque upon the waters,
Mighty though the winds may blow,
Dark though night may press around thee,
Deep though seas may lurk below,
Trust in Jesus as thine helmsman;
Trust in His almighty hand;
Trust in Him to guide thee safely
Through the tempest to the land.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I trust Thee fully with all the storms and upheavals in my life. I thank Thee for Thy presence in it all.
