September 14th

Read: 2 Cor. 5:14-15; 1 Corinthians 6:12; and 1 Corinthians 9:19

One of our Bible teachers told us that since Jesus’ work on the cross, God’s law is the guideline so that we have freedom to do that which is right in Him. One of my High School history teachers told me that every freedom has a corresponding responsibility. How are you working these teachings into your life? Have you recognized the bonds of freedom?

FREEDOM’S BONDS
Freedom to gather the fragments of ‘self’
And decide what activities stay on the shelf;
Freedom to be my whole self everyday;
Freedom from fear of what ‘man’ will say;
Freedom to love every person I meet
As Christ helps me see beneath grudge and defeat;
Freedom to stretch every nerve of my soul;
Freedom to search out the truth of my role
In God’s wondrous plan of forgiveness for all;
Freedom to answer when I hear His call…..
These are the freedoms that I’ve truly found
Now that Christ is my Master and to Him I am bound.

Prayer: Father, remind me always not to step beyond the guidelines of my freedom in Christ.
