November 21st
Read: Luke 6:38; Matt. 10:8; Acts 20:35; John 15
A vessel in Scripture is a pitcher or some other container of liquids. It’s owner fills it with water, for instance, and then pours it into a drinking cup or a mixing bowl for his use. We are God’s vessels. He shapes us, fills us with His Holy Spirit, and expects us to allow the “water” to pour forth into the lives of others. Whatever God gifts us with is to flow through us for His use
in His kingdom.
He gifts us with faith, with talent, with forgiving hearts, and, in this physical world, with possessions which we are expected to use for His glory.
GIFTS ARE FOR GIVING
In reaching out to share a part
Of all God’s joy within my heart,
In offering such priceless gift
As love, I do but seek to lift
As God has lifted even me
From dark to light that I might see.
Each gift I share doth multiply
Into a burgeoning supply
Till I am full and spilling o’er,
Replenished with what I gave and more,
More than I thought could ever be
When I am His vessel and He uses me!
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for Your gifts in my life. Keep me a clean vessel and willing to give so that others’ lives may overflow too.
