Read:1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-58; Revelation 21:23-25

We cannot imagine a world without night. Unless we have experienced the long polar days, we know darkness as a part of each 24-hour period of time. It is part of the rhythm of life here on earth: day, night, work, rest, life, death.
The redeemed love the light. We have nothing to hide from view, because all our sin is washed away in Christ. There is for us nothing to fear in night or in death, because each day brings more light to our souls, more trust in our God. When the Christian falls asleep for the last time here on earth, he will experience morning on the other side and he will know light forevermore.

THE OTHER SIDE OF NIGHT
The other side of night is bright and shining day.
The darkness here perceived will fail and flee away
When Christ shall come in light to rule the world for aye.

When He calls loved ones home to His eternity,
They follow past the veil and all God’s glory see,
For Christ has vanquished death, the mortal enemy.

And we who bide awhile, who wait and wonder still,
Must seek His way and try to do His holy will,
Must stand in times of trial and let His Spirit fill …

Until that moment when He’ll come upon a cloud
With all His faithful saints behind Him in a crowd,
And all nations of the earth before Him will be bowed.

The other side of night will be our pattern then,
When peace shall thrive on earth and in the hearts of men,
And Heaven and Earth will join to shout a great Amen.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You that in Your Word are precious promises and faithful descriptions about life in Heaven with You. Help me to expect You to fulfill it all for me, because I trust in Your Son, Jesus Christ.
