September 26th

Read: Psalm 107:22; Psalm 50:14; Psalm 51:17; Heb. 13:16; Mark 12:30-33; Rev. 3:14-19

“Self” is that part of us which wants to be number one in all circumstances. It is the part of us which we must be rid of if we are to be pleasing to God, if we are to love Him wholeheartedly and our neighbors as ourselves.

BURNT OFFERING
Sweet savor of praise
Ascends ever higher
On a column of prayer
From a heart afire
And burning with love
And a strong desire
To serve the Lord well
With ‘self’ the pyre.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to burn hot for You so that I might be pleasing unto You.
