January 27th

Read: Malachi 4:2; Isaiah 42:16; Isaiah 55:12; Isaiah 60:13; John 1:1-5; Rev. 22:16

Jesus, the Christ, is the Bright and Morning Star, the Light of the World, the Dayspring from on High. He is the One in whom is life and light. He is the Creator who holds sway over all things. He is the pure and holy Judge who paid the penalty for my sin and stands in my defense. He is the Savior with whom I walk every day. Is He all these things to you?

MORNING STAR

Behold the Bright and Morning Star ,
The Sun of Righteousness.
His light breaks o’er the darksome world;
With healing He doth bless.
At His approach Creation kneels
And then with joy doth leap;
The hills with thunder shout His pow’r,
And shadows, fleeing, creep.
In freedom doth He stride the clouds;
His Life o’er death holds sway.
All particles are charged with Life
Drawn from Eternal Day.
When His pure light doth touch a heart
To search and probe within,
His lightning gaze with judgement strikes,
Illuminating sin,
Then with its searing flash restores
The wholeness meant to be,
As man and God begin their walk
Toward perfect unity.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, help me to see You as You are and not with the limited understanding of the world. Help me to walk in unity with You.
