March 30th

Read: John 1:1-14; Mark 16:1-6; John 3:16-18; Revelation 1:17-18

When a person understands for the first time who Jesus Christ is from everlasting to everlasting, he is confronted with a choice;

1. Do I accept His work on the cross and acknowledge His sovereignty over me in order to have a personal relationship with Him?

Or …

2. Do I ignore what light has been given to me and go my own way to serve self, the world, and the devil?

Herein is the dividing line of the ages between the children of God and the children of the devil. This seems so simple to the trusting heart, but so foolish to those who will not see nor surrender their lives into His hands.

JESUS CAME
Into the maelstrom of human affairs,
Into the press of the hurrying throng,
Into this world with its sorrows and cares,
Into all time filled with hatred and wrong
Jesus came.

Leaving His scepter of power and might,
Descending to Earth, the King from His throne,
Putting aside His garments of light,
Clothing His Spirit with flesh and with bone,
Jesus came.

Unto Judea to be lowly born,
Unto a people who just would not see,
Unto derision and mocking and scorn,
Unto a bare hill called Mt. Calvary,
Jesus came.

Out from the shadowed recesses of gloom,
Out from the thralldom where Death held dark sway,
Out from the depths of a stone-covered tomb,
Into the light of God’s glorious day
Jesus came.

Into my heart fraught with worry and dread,
Into my life where the world had first place,
Into my mind where no light had been shed,
Into my spirit that had not known grace
Jesus came … and the stone is rolled away.

Prayer: Lord God, please illuminate Jesus and open my eyes to see Him as He is truly, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
