We often hear the phrase, “From the cradle to the grave.” As believers we have a better one, “From the cross to glory.” The first one covers the physical life. The second, spiritual
life, by far the more important one. God, our Creator and Wise Father, never leaves us on our own once we belong to Him through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Even when we may declare our independence in acts of disobedience or rebellion, He continues to work through His Holy Spirit to bring us back to Himself. He wants us to grow in grace and knowledge of Him. He desires us to be in full fellowship with Him, so continues to work towards our sanctification and glorification. Mostly we are slow learners in these areas, so He repeats the lesson until we get it, and then moves ahead to teach us the next one. He works on us to give us all good things from the cross to glory.

ALL GOOD THINGS
From our God doth all good flow
Into lives which stronger grow
In the struggle `gainst the foe
With Him on our side.

Hope and mercy, love and light
Come to part the clouds of night,
Opening hearts to Daystar bright,
With us to abide.

Truth and power, life and peace,
Joy and courage do not cease.
All God’s good things do increase
Until we’re satisfied.

He doth fill our cups to brim,
Opening eyes that once were dim
To the truth that we, through Him,
Will be glorified.

Prayer: Dear Father, Keep me from stubborn independence in my ways. Help me to be a `quick study’ in spiritual lessons.
