It never ceases to amaze me that I feel like the young person which I once was in spite of what I see every morning in the mirror! It is a great gift from God not to feel old inside.
I still get excited about a picnic or a party or a trip. I still enjoy cooking and baking. I still enjoy kids of all ages. I even continue to enjoy a challenge! Paul’s statement is true. “The inner man is renewed daily,” by our great God.
NEWNESS OF LIFE
Inexorable time will take its toll
Upon the flesh that clothes me here,
But, ah, my everlasting soul
Will still be young from year to year,
For Christ doth quicken it each hour
With life and vigor by His grace.
Each soul-nerve tingles with His pow’r
Which doth all marks of time erase.
Against that boundless silver sea
Which rolls forevermore ahead,
Against God’s vast eternity,
My moment here will soon have sped,
And at that day I see His face
My quickened soul will offer still
Its joyful praise and full embrace
To Him whose life its whole doth fill.
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for filling me with Yourself.
