November 6th

Read: 1 John 5:4-5 and Romans 8:35-39

Life is a battle, but we have Jesus’ resurrection power to use as we fight. The Greek word used for power here is dunamos, the word from which we derive our English word dynamite! We have dynamite with which to repel Satan and fight against this ungodly world in which we live.

VICTORY IN FAITH
If faith indeed is victory,
Then life’s a battle fought.
And this world is our battleground,
Each step with danger fraught.

With Jesus as our Captain
To lead us through the fray
And God’s Word as the sword we hold,
We’ll fight our way each day.

For daily does the tempter
Attack the soldier’s stand,
And we must stand securely
On the promise of God’s hand.

If we have Faith in Jesus
Who’s already trod the way,
With angel bands surrounding
His power will then hold sway.

Then with our faith untarnished
And God’s supply of might
To help us o’er the hard spots,
We’ll stand firm in the fight.

And faith becomes a life lived…
In peace, joy and relief…
A life lived to the fullest
And not just a “belief.”

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for power in our lives from Your Holy Spirit. Help me to stand firm in the battle for You.
