Read: John 14:13; John 15:26; and John 16:24-27; James 4:13

Prayer … God has given us some precious promises concerning it as well as some warnings about abusing this wonderful privilege. We must come to the Father in Jesus’ name and with no doubts of His ability and desire to answer us if we are to see His answers. How blessed we are in prayer.

WHATSOEVER YE SHALL ASK
When I ask ought in Jesus’ name,
I must in faith and love lay claim
To His own promise to reply…..
If my request will glorify the Father.

I must pray to see God’s will,
His every purpose to fulfill.
My prayer must not be selfish plea,
But pure and selfless charity in Jesus.

I’ll know that He has answered true
When I feel peace steal in anew.
Ever His praises I will sing
If joy in full my prayer doth bring to others.

Prayer: Dear God, show me how to pray in Your will and for Your glory.
