October 9th

Read: John 10:1-18

How wonderful to know that I belong to the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. How wonderful that He knows my name personally and that He calls me out to follow Him.

Do you belong to Him? Have you heard your name come from His lips? I pray so, for such is the epitome of life in Christ.

HE CALLS US BY NAME
Christ said it time and time again …
He knows who are His own.
He knows our hearts and what we’ve been.
He knows the seed we’ve sown.

In close communion with His sheep
Our Shepherd knows each name.
‘Tis joy that causes hearts to leap
And love to kindle flame.

To hear my name from His sweet lips
Doth set my heart afire,
As faith my very being grips
And all my fears expire.

Yes, Jesus, knows His very own
And what each one can be.
He teaches us until we grow
To full maturity.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for knowing me in such a personal way. Help me always to heed Your voice.
